The verdict, made public today at the Provincial Court, concludes that the accused acted with premeditation and without any psychological alteration that would mitigate his responsibility, despite the consumption of alcohol and medication.
The prosecution is seeking a 30-year prison sentence for the defendant, charging him with home invasion, mistreatment in the context of gender violence, and murder. According to the Public Ministry, the crime occurred because the accused did not accept the sentimental breakup.
In the same trial, another man accused of collaborating in the crime by disabling security cameras has been acquitted. The jury does not consider him a co-perpetrator of the murder and acknowledges his remorse, as he did not manage to cover all the lenses.
The defense for the main accused argued during the trial that he suffered from schizophrenia and requested that the events be classified as homicide, seeking mitigating circumstances to reduce the sentence to five years in prison.
