The Community of Madrid has approved the project to restore two-way traffic on the livestock trail in Perales del Río, known as Vereda de La Torrecilla.

The Getafe City Council has confirmed it will cover the entire cost of the necessary works for this road improvement. The intervention, which has received the green light from the Department of Environment, Agriculture and Interior, aims to improve neighborhood connectivity and facilitate resident mobility.
The restriction to a single lane and the 20 km/h speed limit were implemented provisionally following the Filomena storm in 2021. Since then, restoring the full capacity of the road has been a constant demand from residents and local organizations.
The technical project, which was presented to neighborhood groups last April, includes the temporary closure of the area during the construction phase. The local government is currently working on coordinating procedures with affected services and local farmers to minimize disruptions.
Work is scheduled to begin during the final weeks of August. These improvements will join other infrastructure projects planned for the summer in the municipality, such as the repaving of Madrid and Leganés streets, the access to Los Molinos via Carpinteros street, and the upgrade of the municipal swimming pool parking lot.
