The Getafe City Council has inaugurated a modern children's fountain in San Isidro Park, designed for the enjoyment of the youngest residents during the hot summer months.

The former walk-through fountain near the San Isidro Park hermitage has been transformed by the Getafe City Council's Maintenance department into a new water feature for children. This fountain will allow youngsters to cool off during the hottest months of the year.
According to the Councilor for Maintenance, Roberto Fernández, this is the second fountain of its kind in the San Isidro neighborhood, following the success of the one opened last summer on Huelva street for families in Juan de la Cierva.
The fountain will operate from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, a schedule established based on the experience of the first children's fountain to respect siesta times and nighttime hours during the summer. The investment for this modern facility totals 285,000 euros. The area will be further enhanced with the installation of new benches for families. This fountain joins others already located in San Sebastián square, Arboleda street, and Cataluña street.
This new installation is part of the second phase of the new San Isidro Sports Center, which aims to integrate the leisure and meeting area for residents of one of the city's oldest neighborhoods. The works, with a budget exceeding 8,500,000 euros, also include the construction of the Gregorio Serrano football field, multi-purpose rooms, changing rooms, and the relocation of the central offices for the Sports delegation.
