The tenth edition of the 'De poesía por Getafe' festival will pay a special tribute to Robe Iniesta, leader of Extremoduro, recognizing his poetic impact on national rock, with cultural activities taking place from April 15 to 26 across various locations in the city.

The event, which has established itself as one of Getafe's most significant cultural gatherings, will offer a varied program including concerts, recitals, literary presentations, discussions, exhibitions, and workshops. The Espacio Mercado will serve as the central hub for many of these activities.
Highlights of the festival include the concert by Lichis and Due Country, the Young Poetry Recital, and the awards ceremony for the VI Micropoem Contest. Additionally, literary presentations and the traditional reading of Don Quixote will take place on April 23, coinciding with International Book Day.

"During these days, libraries, civic centers, cultural spaces, and streets will be filled with poems, music, and painting, as a great collective celebration and a tool to build a better world."

The initiative also aims to promote reading in neighborhoods through activities in the Municipal Library Network and civic centers. The festival strengthens its international character with collaborations from the Polish Institute of Culture, the National House of Romania, and UNESCO, promoting European lyricism and poetry in other languages of Spain such as Catalan and Galician.
This edition is curated by Getafe poet Mario Obrero, who emphasized the festival's commitment to emerging talent, giving a voice to young national and local poets. The exhibitions 'Haiku' and 'Trazos y Rimas II' by La Carpa Creadores de Getafe will inaugurate the festival on April 15 at the Espacio Mercado and the Lorenzo Vaquero exhibition hall, respectively.
