Nearly 10,000 students in Fuenlabrada are already receiving their municipal grant for textbooks and school supplies, with the City Council expediting the payment.

The Fuenlabrada City Council has advanced the payment of municipal grants for textbooks and school supplies to nearly 10,000 students. This measure aims to ensure families have the funds before the start of the school year, facilitating the coverage of associated expenses.
Mayor Javier Ayala highlighted that these grants guarantee equal opportunities and particularly support families with fewer resources. He noted that Fuenlabrada is a national benchmark in supporting families with their children's education.
The 'Fuenbecas' are intended for students enrolled in educational centers from Early Childhood Education up to Baccalaureate or Vocational Training, including Special Education and Compensatory Classrooms.
The Local Government Board approved the final list of beneficiaries on August 21. It is anticipated that the number may increase by approximately 906 more students who still need to submit their enrollment certificates. A new procedure for these cases will be opened in late September and early October.
This initiative complements other educational support programs such as 'Universiayudas' or 'FuenEnglish', aimed at enhancing the educational quality for the city's children, adolescents, and young people.
