The incident took place around 5:35 AM, when emergency services were alerted to a head-on collision between two vehicles at kilometer 7.5. Units from the Community of Madrid Fire Department and SUMMA medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

Despite the cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts performed by medical professionals, two men, one from each vehicle, were confirmed dead. Firefighters assisted in the rescue operations and the subsequent clearing of the road.

The other three victims, who suffered various polytrauma injuries, were stabilized and rushed to Puerta de Hierro, 12 de Octubre, and Gregorio Marañón hospitals for specialized care.

The Civil Guard has taken charge of the investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision on this stretch of the Madrid road network.
