The competition began with an individual time trial over a 30.8-kilometer course. Víctor García, Hugo Pradas, and Yeray Sastre tackled the challenge. García was the best-placed of the three, finishing in 11th position, 2:29 behind the U23 national champion, Óscar Vian. Sastre, representing Castilla y León, finished 16th, 3:17 behind, while Pradas, with the Community of Madrid selection, was 23rd, 4:22 adrift.
The U23 road race, held on Saturday, saw the team's participation across four different regional selections. Víctor García, Hugo Pradas, and Mario Anguela competed for the Community of Madrid; Yeray Sastre, Álvar Martín, and Ángel Marugán for Castilla y León; Alejandro Paredes, Rubén García, and Mario García for Castilla-La Mancha; and Mario Bermejo for Extremadura.
The 157.7-kilometer route, which included sections towards Formigal and Hoz de Jaca before the final circuit, thinned out the group of riders due to the pace, heat, and accumulated fatigue. The title went to Manuel Sanroma, who launched a solo attack in the final stretch. Only 39 riders managed to finish the demanding race.
Regarding the performance of El Bicho-Plataforma Central Iberum, Ángel Marugán was the only rider from the team to complete the race and be included in the final classification. The cyclist from Castilla y León crossed the finish line in 32nd position, 9:21 behind the winner, on a day that saw a large portion of the peloton drop out.
