The detainees, who allegedly operated in various locations across the Community of Madrid, are linked to five assaults. The first occurred in Getafe on August 3rd, when two individuals entered a business armed and demanded the day's takings from an employee.
Four of the establishments targeted were grocery stores, and the fifth was a service station. The police investigation connects the arrested individuals to four subsequent robberies.
On August 10th, two more robberies took place in Madrid. One occurred in Puente de Vallecas, where an assailant allegedly threatened a grocery store worker with a pistol. On the same day, in Moratalaz, two men armed with a pistol and an axe threatened an employee and stole the cash register's contents.
Two days later, on August 12th, a gas station in Coslada was the scene of another robbery. The perpetrators threatened the employee with a firearm and fled in a vehicle with the money.
The last of the five investigated robberies happened on August 17th in Madrid's Retiro district. The alleged robbers entered a store, one armed with a pistol and the other with a pickaxe, damaging the victim's mobile phone during the assault.
The suspects reportedly took precautions to avoid identification, using sunglasses, scarves, surgical masks, and even an actor's mask to conceal their faces and tattoos.
Investigations and surveillance led officers to identify and locate the two suspects. They were arrested on August 19th in Puente de Vallecas and subsequently brought before the court. A judge has ordered their provisional imprisonment.
