Actor David Lorente has been designated Getafe's Ambassador of Culture 2026, acknowledging his career and connection to the municipality.

The Getafe Culture Forum has announced the recipients of the sixth Culture Gala awards. After evaluating over 20 proposals from local cultural associations and groups, actor David Lorente has been honored as the Ambassador of Culture of Getafe 2026, recognizing his career and ties to the city.
Nationally, the awards celebrate prominent cultural figures such as Lola Herrera in Performing Arts, Esther Ferrer in Visual Arts, David Uclés in Literary Arts, Nacho Duato and Stella Arauzo in Dance, and Rozalén in Music. Additionally, a Special Mention has been awarded to Artistas con Palestina for their social commitment.
At the local level, awards go to María Fernanda ‘Nana’ for Performing Arts, Luis Ruffo for Dance, the Getafe Music Band for Music, José Manuel Muñoz ‘Bianchi’ for Visual Arts, Marisol Pérez Urbano for Literary Arts, and Juan Diego Bueno for Heritage Promotion.
The award ceremony will take place at the Teatro Federico García Lorca after the summer. Actor Raúl Tejón, Getafe's Ambassador of Culture for 2025, will serve as the gala's patron.
