The M-406 road, as it passes through Alcorcón and Leganés, will experience significant traffic cuts for 15 weeks, from the second half of April to the second half of July 2026, due to structural repair works.

The Community of Madrid has announced that the works will focus on kilometer point 6.40, specifically on the overpasses crossing the Madrid-Cáceres railway line, within the municipal area of Leganés. These actions aim to waterproof the decks and adapt the containment systems of both structures.
To ensure safety during the improvements, traffic restrictions will be implemented, impacting circulation in the area. Despite the limitations, one lane will remain open in each direction at all times to minimize disruption to daily commutes.

"Drivers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and exercise extreme caution when driving through the area, as these works could cause occasional traffic jams, especially during peak hours."

The works will be carried out in three phases. Initially, the fast lanes in both directions will be closed for approximately three weeks. Subsequently, a temporary diversion will be set up to move traffic from the Alcorcón-bound carriageway to the parallel one, allowing work on the structure in the Getafe direction.
Once these works are completed, traffic will be redirected to the already repaired structure to allow work on the bridge in the Alcorcón direction, thus completing the intervention. These works are expected to cause traffic congestion, especially during peak hours.
