The incident occurred around 4:30 PM, when a father and daughter traveling in the car managed to exit safely after the fire started. The flames initially affected the vehicle itself and later reached part of the vegetation near the roundabout, generating a visible column of smoke in the area.
Emergency services intervened quickly to extinguish the flames and prevent their spread. The fire is now under control, and crews have worked on the affected grassland area to prevent new outbreaks. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, although the vehicle was destroyed by the flames.

Alcorcon Firefighters have also recalled recommendations for drivers facing road fires. They suggest parking on the shoulder, turning off the engine, leaving hazard lights on, and calling 112. They also advise leaving the keys in the ignition to facilitate the possible removal of the vehicle by emergency services and, when leaving the car, moving away perpendicularly to the fire's advance, checking the wind direction.
If smoke or fire is observed on the road, it is recommended not to continue driving and, if possible, to return by the way you came. In conditions of reduced visibility, drivers should exercise extreme caution, warn other drivers of the danger, and always follow official information and instructions from emergency services, such as Civil Protection alerts.
