The Plenary Session of the Moralzarzal City Council has approved the proposal to designate the two local holidays for 2027: May 3rd, coinciding with the Fiesta de la Cruz de Mayo, and September 23rd, the date marking the start of the Patron Saint Festivities.

The proposal passed with votes in favor from PP (7), Contigo (1), PSOE (2), and VOX (1). VMP (4) voted against, and MEC (1) and the non-attached councilor abstained.
On May 3rd, the Fiesta de la Cruz de Mayo will be celebrated, a traditional event held at Parque de La Tejera. This countryside day, designed for all ages, combines devotion, popular gastronomy, and remembrance of the local stonemasonry past. The festival keeps the festive spirit alive with a horse pilgrimage, Mass at the Hermitage of the Park, children's activities, musical performances, and free tastings of bacon, chorizo, and sardines.
September 23rd will mark the beginning of the Patron Saint Festivities, popularly known as “La Semana Grande de la Sierra” (The Great Week of the Sierra). Historically, this day has been the main annual celebration in the municipality. The opening day will include Mass and a Procession honoring the patron saints, the Virgen del Rosario and San Miguel Arcángel, a proclamation in the Plaza de la Constitución with a free appetizer, and various children's and musical activities throughout the day.
