The Program for Residential Environments of Programmed Rehabilitation (ERRP) in Aranjuez has extended its execution deadline until 2028. This initiative, financed with European Next Generation funds, aims to facilitate homeowners and neighborhood communities in improving the energy efficiency and revaluing their buildings.
Since the agreement was signed in November 2022 between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, the Community of Madrid, and the Aranjuez City Council, a total of €8,374,290.05 in aid has been processed. These subsidies are intended for actions on 353 homes and 71 commercial premises, mainly in the Historic Center, areas such as the Barraca de Federico García Lorca and the Glorieta del Clavel, which will mobilize a private investment of €20,760,895.46.
The works include improving thermal insulation, renovating facilities, reducing energy consumption, and increasing accessibility, contributing to enhancing residents' quality of life and boosting economic activity in the construction sector and local businesses.
The Councilor for Urban Planning and Housing, Ignacio Díaz, highlighted that the program is one of the largest residential rehabilitation projects in Aranjuez, and that the mobilized investment will also allow for public space improvement actions.
Among the urban regeneration and public space improvement actions financed by the program are the refurbishment of the roadways in the Plaza de San Antonio and the creation of a water park in the Plaza de Abastos.
