Alcorcón is advancing the recovery of the Center for Artistic Creation (CREAA) with plans for a video game and digital entertainment hub, while preparing for the XXXXIV El Rocío Pilgrimage.

The Alcorcón City Council has presented a plan to revitalize the Center for Artistic Creation (CREAA), a project that includes the creation of a large video game and digital entertainment hub. Mayor Candelaria Testa defended the municipal management against opposition criticism, recalling the original contract's termination by the Partido Popular in 2012, which resulted in a 34 million euro compensation payment.
Initial actions at CREAA will commence in the coming weeks, supported by favorable legal and financial reports. Among these is the imminent launch of the national service ATENPRO for the support and protection of victims of gender-based violence. Six buildings in the complex will be dedicated to the video game hub, aiming to establish Alcorcón as a sector leader and generate employment.
The Casa Cultural Andaluza de Alcorcón will celebrate the XXXXIV Pilgrimage in honor of Nuestra Señora del Rocío on June 13 and 14, 2026. The procession will depart from the entity's headquarters and tour various city points, including a stop at the City Hall for a reception by municipal authorities. The event will conclude at the Pinar Virgen del Rocío with activities and performances.
On Sunday, a floral offering, a mass, a communal paella, and a farewell song will take place. The entity's president, Manuel Gil González, has invited participation in this celebration that strengthens the cultural and social ties of the Andalusian community in Alcorcón.
Furthermore, from June 18 to 21, the Department of Culture and Festivities is organizing the street arts festival ‘Calles Vivas’. Nearly 30 proposals in theater, circus, and music will fill the neighborhoods of Alcorcón, promoting public, accessible culture that celebrates local identity.

This initiative represents a commitment to public, accessible culture open to all citizens.
