The president of ESMASA has defended her management after a resignation, while Alcorcón hosts a memory event at the Buero Vallejo Theater and an exhibition showcasing women entrepreneurs.

The president of the municipal company ESMASA has responded to the recent resignation of a vice president, defending her management and questioning the former executive's performance. According to the president, the former vice president “never held the position,” citing his low attendance at meetings and lack of proposals for nearly a year.
In a statement, the president justified recent changes, such as internal restructuring and the dismissal of the manager, as necessary measures to improve service, optimize resources, and strengthen the public nature of the company. She also reaffirmed her commitment to maintaining ESMASA as an essential service for citizens and criticized the political use of the conflict, assuring that she will continue working to restore the municipal company's level.
Furthermore, the Alcorcón City Council held an institutional event at the Municipal Buero Vallejo Theater. The event included the screening of the documentary No, no iban a morir igual, by Javier Quintas and Aman Hamoudi, and the inauguration of the traveling exhibition “7291 víctimas.” This exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Truth and Justice association, will be open to the public until May 20, 2026, at the same theater.
In addition, the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Alcorcón has inaugurated the exhibition “Ellas Impulsan Alcorcón.” This initiative aims to highlight the role of women entrepreneurs in the city's economic, social, and cultural development. The exhibition features a photographic and testimonial journey that showcases their careers and contributions to the local business fabric. The project also includes a round table on gender perspective in the city, with the participation of institutional representatives, experts, and social agents. The exhibition will be available until May 29.
Finally, the old church of San Pedro Apóstol de Polvoranca, located between Leganés and Alcorcón, will be rehabilitated to become an archaeological museum. This 17th-century Baroque temple, which has been in ruins for decades, will receive an investment of several million euros from the Leganés City Council for its recovery and transformation into a cultural space. The objective is to preserve this historic building and enhance the common heritage of the area, strengthening the cultural offerings around Polvoranca Park.
