The decision by the educational administration not to renew the service commissions for five Secondary teachers and one teacher linked to the Excellent project has caused alarm at CEIPSO Miguel de Cervantes in Alcorcón. This center, which has a reduced staff of approximately twenty teachers, has been recognized for its educational model and has received various awards.
The affected professionals and the students' families believe that the departure of these educators represents a serious detriment to the project's stability. They argue that the accumulated experience of these teachers is crucial for maintaining the work approach developed in recent years, and their departure will force the center to restructure its academic organization.
The situation has led to significant discontent within the educational community, which criticizes the lack of dialogue with the responsible authorities. The affected teachers have expressed their sadness and disappointment with a resolution they deem unjustified, as they claim it has not taken into account the center's results or the specific needs of its students.
In response to this situation, teachers and families have organized protest gatherings in front of the Alcorcón City Council to request a review of the measure. Protesters warn that the loss of six teachers in such a small faculty could seriously jeopardize the continuity of a project that had become an educational benchmark in the municipality. The only response received from the Administration thus far has been a formal complaint about the gathering.
