The Alcorcón City Council, through the Department of Citizen Participation, Feminism, and the Elderly, has launched the first edition of 'Golden Spring,' an event to honor couples who have shared 50 years of life together in the city.
The initiative, which seeks to recognize the trajectory of these unions, will take place on May 23 at 6:00 PM at the Buero Vallejo Municipal Theater. It will be an emotional day where family and friends can accompany those being honored in this public recognition.

"This initiative aims to pay tribute to those who have shared fifty years of life together. This tribute will be carried out through an emotional day in which both family and friends can accompany these couples in a public recognition of their journey, marked by affection, complicity, and commitment over time."
The municipal government intends to highlight couples who began their life together in 1975 or 1976. Interested individuals have until May 7 to register. Registrations can be made at the Salvador Allende and Polvoranca senior centers, Monday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
Additionally, it is also possible to register during the dances held at the Salvador Allende (Saturdays) and Adolfo Suárez (Sundays) senior centers, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. To formalize registration, both spouses' DNI, the Family Book or document proving marriage or civil partnership, a photo from the wedding day or start of the relationship (if preserved), and a recent photo of the couple are required.

"Our goal is to highlight the life stories of many couples in the municipality who, over the years, have built family, community, and city in Alcorcón, and whose journey has made our municipality what it is today, something that deserves public and express recognition from the Alcorcón City Council."
