The city of Alcorcón is preparing to host a new edition of the Ecomarket this Saturday, May 31st, in the Ensanche Sur neighborhood, offering a day of responsible consumption and family leisure.

The Ecomarket returns to Alcorcón this Saturday, May 31st, taking place in the Ensanche Sur neighborhood. This established initiative will bring together around thirty local producers and offer a varied program of free activities designed for the whole family. The event will be held on Pablo Picasso street.
Organized by the Department of Citizen Participation, Feminism, and Cooperation, the market will combine stalls selling organic and artisanal products with children's workshops, live music, shows, and cooking demonstrations (showcooking). The councilor for the area, Sonia López, highlighted the event's importance as "a unique opportunity to enjoy as a family and, at the same time, discover local production," encouraging citizens to participate in this free event that travels through different neighborhoods of the city.
The main objective of the Ecomarket is to promote responsible consumption and support small local producers. Attendees will be able to find and purchase a wide range of organic and artisanal products, including vegetables, oils, breads, legumes, eggs, and craft beers. "Fostering responsible consumption and local production, as well as citizen participation and engagement," explained Sonia López, is key to the initiative.
The day will feature various free activities for families. At 11:30 AM, a children's workshop on planting vegetables will be held, organized by the Department of Parks and Gardens as part of the ‘Alcorcón Natural‘ program, with free access until capacity is reached. Subsequently, at 12:00 PM, there will be a children's show, followed by a live musical performance at 1:00 PM. The program will conclude at 2:00 PM with a 'showcooking' event highlighting the use of local products and sustainable food.
