The inaugural Spring and Literature Fair will take place at Alcorcón's Parque de la Paz on May 16th and 17th, offering a diverse cultural and commercial program for the entire family.

This initiative, promoted by the Municipal Institute for Employment and Economic Promotion (IMEPE) and the Department of Culture and Festivities, aims to encourage reading and support local businesses. A total of 27 commercial establishments will set up their stalls, with a notable presence of local bookstores and literary associations.
Participating bookstores include Fábula, Alzofora, and Suministros Simón, which will offer recommendations and showcase their activities to the public. Additionally, associations such as 100 Miradas, Verbo Azul, and Alfareros del Lenguaje will have dedicated literary spaces.
The cultural program features live music, children's workshops, storytelling, and creative activities. Saturday will include a performance by the group Arazana, a creative workshop for children, and the storytelling session 'Los animales, unos grandes maestros' by Nelson Calderón. The day will conclude with a music session by KARLOX DJ.
On Sunday, the fair will continue with the storytelling 'Las gallinas de mi abuela' by Marco Flecha, a DJ BUBA session, and face painting for children.

"This fair will unite two elements that are part of our identity and give life to our neighborhoods: culture and local commerce. With this first Spring and Literature Fair, we wanted to fill the Parque de la Paz with activities for all ages, giving space to local bookstores that bring literature closer to our neighbors throughout the year. A weekend to spend with family while building community."

the Councilor for Culture and Festivities

"The objective of this activity is for the fair to be a space to support local commerce, but also to show the pride of being a resident of Alcorcón. In a dynamic where large companies fill the storefronts of all cities with the same brands, local commerce continues to make a difference. That is why it is something we all have to take care of."
