The initiative, taking place on Saturday, May 23rd, seeks to inform Alcorcón residents about the reality of family foster care and address any questions regarding how to help children and adolescents who temporarily cannot live with their biological families. The stand will be available from 4:30 PM.
During the event, attendees can receive detailed information on different types of foster care, hear experiences from collaborating families, and directly consult with them. The association emphasizes the key difference between foster care and adoption: while adoption is a permanent bond, foster care offers a stable temporary home.
Families for Adoption, a non-profit organization founded in 2000 and declared of public utility since 2010, works to support minors. They have a network of participating families in Spain and abroad, offering activities such as support groups and training for foster families.
The association highlights the crucial role of a family environment in the emotional development of minors and stresses the need to find more families willing to open their homes to children currently residing in residential centers.
