The Independent Citizen Group for Aranjuez (ACIPA) has submitted a question to the Corporation's Plenary regarding the convocation of an extraordinary meeting of the Mobility Pact. This meeting, unanimously approved in May 2026, aims to address the significant impacts on pedestrian mobility and traffic that the demolition and improvement works of the Station Bridge will generate.
ACIPA's original proposal requested the convocation of said pact "as soon as possible", including affected residents, workers, and other usual participants. Furthermore, it asked to urge the Railway Infrastructure Administrator (ADIF) to seek alternative solutions to the underpass at the north head of the station.
The works on the Station Bridge, necessary to allow the passage of large freight trains, involve the closure of the east-west access via Calle Toledo for approximately one year. This interruption will cause "very significant problems" for residents and workers of nearby companies, as well as for entry and exit to the A-4 highway.
ACIPA criticizes that ADIF "washes its hands" by suggesting drivers use the Paseo del Deleite as an alternative. The party considers that the work, far from being an investment in Aranjuez, is a collateral consequence to facilitate the passage of freight trains.
Given this situation, ACIPA asks the municipal government if there is an approximate date "as soon as possible" for the Mobility Pact meeting before the end of the year, and if the requested meeting with ADIF has been held to discuss the magnitude of the works and their impacts.
