The Provincial Court of Madrid has sentenced a man to 15 years in prison for an attempted murder against his partner in the municipality of Pinto in June 2022.

The court found it fully proven that the defendant attacked the woman with a bladed weapon, causing multiple stab wounds to her abdomen, neck, chest, back, and arms. The sentence also includes a restraining order prohibiting the aggressor from contacting or approaching the victim for twenty years and an economic compensation of 57,311.91 euros for physical damages and psychological sequelae.
The events occurred at the victim's home following a verbal dispute. The aggressor returned to the location to return money he owed her. In the kitchen, he unexpectedly drew a nine-centimeter knife from his backpack and repeatedly attacked her. The woman attempted to flee but was pursued and stabbed again before she could reach the elevator.
A resident of the building intervened upon hearing the cries for help, alerting the attacker that she had already called the security forces. After the neighbor's intervention, the man fled, discarding the clothing he was wearing, the victim's wallet, and the weapon in various locations. He was apprehended by the Local Police approximately two hundred meters from the crime scene.
The severe penetrating wounds affected vital organs such as the liver, spleen, and kidney, in addition to causing deep cuts to her limbs and torso. The victim required two surgical operations, admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and a lengthy rehabilitation period to survive.
