The Community of Madrid has announced aid of 1.5 million euros for the economic and environmental recovery of the Sierra Oeste region, following the major fire that affected several municipalities, including Villanueva de Perales.

The Villanueva de Perales Town Hall participated on November 3rd in a meeting with the Minister of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, to learn about the actions and aid designated for municipalities affected by the fire. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Vice Ministry of Justice and Victims.
Among the initiatives presented is the tourism promotion campaign «Vuelve a Vivirla» (Come Back to Live It), allocated 1.5 million euros, aiming to encourage visitors to return to the Sierra Oeste to revitalize hospitality, commerce, and rural accommodation businesses. The General Directorate of Territorial Rebalancing will prioritize investment actions in the tourism sector.
A ten-year Forest Restoration Plan was also discussed to recover the mountains affected by the fire and the natural environment. Additionally, it was announced that farmers and ranchers will soon be able to apply for aid of 1,500 euros per damaged hectare to help restore affected agricultural and livestock operations.
The Villanueva de Perales Town Hall positively values these initiatives and the coordination between administrations for the recovery of the natural environment, support for those affected, and the revitalization of activity and confidence in the towns of the Sierra Oeste.
