A fire broke out early Saturday morning at a recycling plant in Torrejón de Velasco, triggering a significant emergency operation to control the flames.

The blaze, which started around six in the morning at kilometer 31 of the M-404, affected two large accumulations of processed scrap metal, each with an approximate volume of 1,500 cubic meters.
Twelve units from the Community of Madrid Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, focusing their efforts on extinguishing the flames. Their swift intervention was crucial in preventing the fire from spreading to a third area of the facility, which would have significantly expanded its scope.

"12 units of #BomberosCM are working on the extinction. The fire affects two piles of processed scrap metal of 1,500 m3."
