The blaze, which started on Wednesday afternoon, has prompted the activation of an ES-Alert message to residents of Villa Del Prado, asking them to remain indoors with doors and windows closed until further notice.
The Community of Madrid has activated Operational Situation 2 of the Civil Protection Plan against Forest Fires (INFOMA), deploying 19 ground and air units from the region's Firefighters and Forest Agents to the area.
According to the Forest Fire Prevention and Extinction Service of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, nine ground resources and 42 personnel are working on site. The evacuation of the El Pinar urbanization and the confinement of the El Romillo Urbanization have also been decreed.
As a consequence of the fire, traffic has been cut off on the M-507 towards Navalcarnero and the N-403 towards Toledo at the intersection of both roads.
The Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid (CRTM) has reported disruptions to public transport. Intercity bus lines 545 and 547 are only operating up to Villa Del Prado, and travelers are advised to plan their journeys.
The Government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, is closely monitoring the forest fire's evolution, emphasizing the mobilization of all public resources and urging maximum caution from the public.
