The renovation of public lighting is set to be one of the main municipal investments for the coming months in Arroyomolinos, with a budget of 250,000 euros. These funds will be used for the replacement and improvement of streetlights in various public areas of the municipality.
Mayor Luis Quiroga announced this initiative during the annual debate on general policy, detailing that the City Council is in the final stages of the administrative procedures prior to tendering the contract to carry out this action. The plan is part of the municipal strategy to reinforce urban maintenance and address residents' primary requests.
Other actions included in this strategy are the new street cleaning contract for the southern zone, operational since December, the upcoming award of the service for the northern neighborhoods, the remodeling of 33 children's play areas, and the development of a tree-planting plan that includes the addition of 3,733 new trees and the adaptation of 432 tree pits.
Additionally, the local executive plans to present a modification to the tax ordinances to reduce the IBI (Property Tax) rate from 0.47% to 0.45%, which, according to projections, would result in an annual saving of 330,000 euros for families and businesses. These measures are complemented by the second phase of the 'Asphalt Plan', with an estimated investment of 1.5 million euros for the renovation of the road surface on streets and avenues.
