The rescue operation, which lasted several hours, required specialized technical intervention and the use of a helicopter to free the animal. The cow had become immobilized in the muddy, waterlogged terrain, preventing it from moving on its own.
Due to the difficulty of accessing the location with conventional ground vehicles, personnel from the Special Group for High-Altitude Rescue (GERA) of the Community of Madrid Firefighters, in collaboration with Forest Rangers, opted for an aerial approach. After securing the animal and preparing it for extraction without causing injury, a hoisting maneuver was performed with the helicopter.
Ultimately, the cow was lifted from the mud and returned to firm, safe ground. The swift and coordinated action of the emergency services successfully resolved this challenging situation in the natural environment of the Madrid mountains.
