The I MUN Inter Gredos, organized by the GSD educational group, successfully concluded in Buitrago de Lozoya, gathering approximately 180 students to debate and reach agreements on global challenges.

For three days, the GSD International School Buitrago was transformed into a diplomatic forum where Secondary and Baccalaureate students assumed the role of United Nations delegates. This initiative, promoted by the GSD educational group, aims to foster the development of key competencies through real learning experiences.
The closing day, held between April 8 and 10, was particularly emotional, with all seven committees successfully passing their respective resolutions. These proposals, inspired by the functioning of the UN, addressed crucial topics such as access to education, gender equality, artificial intelligence regulation, and international conflicts.

"The Model United Nations allows geopolitics to be brought into the classroom in a practical way, where students not only acquire knowledge but also put it into action, developing critical thinking, empathy, and negotiation skills."

The MUN methodology is based on an academic simulation where students represent different countries, defending their interests from a diplomatic perspective. This process involves weeks of research, speech preparation, and analysis of potential alliances, culminating in committee debates.
Beyond knowledge acquisition, the project is part of service-learning, seeking to generate an impact on the educational community by training critical citizens committed to peaceful conflict resolution. The experience has also sparked students' vocational interest in areas such as international relations, law, and politics.
The event concluded with recognition for the best delegations from each committee, honorable mentions, and distinctions for the presidency team and staff. The participation of students from GSD Buitrago, GSD Moratalaz, GSD Las Artes, and GSD Las Suertes, with approximately 180 participants, marked significant growth compared to previous experiences. Following this success, GSD plans to consolidate the MUN as an annual event, expanding participation and seeking a more international dimension.
