The film event, featuring the original Spanish version of Un Poeta, will take place in the center's auditorium. Admission costs 2 euros and is available at the box office and through the online sales channel.
Un Poeta, directed by Simón Mesa Soto, tells the story of Óscar Restrepo, an aging and erratic poet whose obsession with poetry has brought him no glory. The plot focuses on his encounter with Yurlady, a teenager from a humble background, whom he helps to cultivate her poetic talent.
The film, featuring performances by Ubeimar Rios, Rebeca Andrade, Guillermo Cardona, Margarita Soto, Hugo Valencia, and Humberto Restrepo, received the Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and the Horizontes Award for Best Latin American Film at the 2025 San Sebastián Film Festival.
Following the screening, there will be a presentation and debate moderated by Carlos Reviriego, film critic and programming director of the Spanish Film Archive. The film, with a runtime of 125 minutes, is not recommended for individuals under 16 years of age.
