Madrid Community Firefighters have successfully controlled a vegetation fire that broke out on Wednesday afternoon near the El Tomillar urbanization in the municipality of Gargantilla del Lozoya.

The blaze began around 3:00 PM in an area close to homes and affected the protective fencing of several plots.
Due to the fire's proximity to the residential zone, a significant deployment was mobilized, including 15 fire crews with both ground and aerial resources. The swift response of the personnel contained the flames' advance and established a safety perimeter to prevent further spread.
Although the fire is now stabilized and under control, several units will remain in the area for the coming hours, conducting surveillance and cooling operations to eliminate any residual hotspots and prevent flare-ups.
The incident caused no personal injuries and did not necessitate the evacuation of homes. No one reported intoxication, and the flames did not reach the houses within the urbanization.
