This initiative, with an investment close to 20,000 euros, covers the section from number 225 to the entrance of the Los Rosales estate. The main objective is to evaluate the feasibility of a more efficient and environmentally friendly public lighting model that does not rely on connection to the conventional electricity grid.
The project aims not only to optimize lighting in this road section but also to test a solution that could be extended to other areas of the municipality, including the connection to Parquelagos, or to areas with difficulties accessing the electricity grid. The new luminaires, with a power of 40 watts, operate completely autonomously thanks to solar energy, ensuring their functionality 365 nights a year, regardless of weather conditions.
One of the most notable advantages of this system is the elimination of costly infrastructure works, such as trenches and conduits, as it does not require grid connection. The City Council emphasizes the environmental commitment of this technology, which contributes to the reduction of CO₂ emissions and minimizes light pollution by preventing light dispersion into the sky.
The City Council reaffirms its commitment to innovation, energy efficiency, and respect for the environment. This is a significant step towards a more sustainable municipality that improves the quality of life of its inhabitants while protecting the environment.
