The cyclotourist event, which started in El Escorial and finished in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, covered 115 kilometers and presented a challenge of 2,500 meters of positive elevation gain. Participants tackled four mountain passes: Los Ángeles de San Rafael, Puerto del León, Puerto de Navacerrada via Las Siete Revueltas, and El Tomillar. Refreshment points along the route allowed cyclists to refuel in a great sporting atmosphere.
The two timed sections, located at Puerto del León and on the ascent to Navacerrada from the Segovia side, were points of great interest. After overcoming El Tomillar, the final climb of the day, cyclists enjoyed views of the El Escorial area from above before heading to the finish line, next to the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
Present at the start were Carlota López, mayor of San Lorenzo de El Escorial; Antonio Vicente Rubio, mayor of El Escorial; Vicente Durán, Councilor for Sports in El Escorial, as well as the organizers and members of the Club Ciclista Escurialense, Victorino López and Juan Manuel Mateos.
