San Lorenzo de El Escorial Launches Youth Authors Music Contest

The initiative aims to showcase emerging musicians from the Community of Madrid with cash prizes and performance opportunities.

San Lorenzo de El Escorial has announced the call for entries for the ninth edition of its Youth Authors Music Contest, an event designed to promote emerging talent from the Community of Madrid.

The contest, now in its ninth year, has established itself as a significant platform for musicians and bands from the region. Throughout its history, it has featured a diverse range of styles, from singer-songwriter and pop-rock to metal, alternative music, and fusion.
Eligibility is open to singer-songwriters and bands whose members are between 16 and 35 years old and reside in the Community of Madrid. The registration deadline is June 15 at 8:00 PM. Applications can be submitted at the Casa de la Juventud (C/ Presilla, 11), by phone at 91 890 39 95, or via email at [[email protected]](/cdn-cgi/l/email-protection).

The contest will award three prizes: 1,000 euros and a commemorative plaque for the best band; 700 euros and a plaque for the best singer-songwriter; and 400 euros and a plaque for the best local band or artist.

In addition to the cash prizes, the winners will have the opportunity to perform live during the 2026 Patron Saint Festivities. The concert will take place at the iconic 'El Parque' venue, as part of the official festival program.
