Moralzarzal has been awarded by Ecovidrio, the Community of Madrid, and the Federation of Madrid Municipalities (FMM) for its outstanding work in glass recycling, surpassing the objectives of the 'Reto Mapamundi' environmental campaign.

The municipality has been recognized for ranking among the best in the region for selective glass collection. The three promoting entities have congratulated the City Council and thanked the residents for their involvement in this initiative.
The 'Reto Mapamundi' campaign, promoted by Ecovidrio in collaboration with the Community of Madrid and the FMM, aims to encourage recycling through a sustainable competition among Madrid municipalities. In this edition, Moralzarzal competed alongside 43 other municipalities.
The local challenge focused on a uniquely designed bin located on Lope de Vega street, where residents were tasked with increasing glass container collection by at least 10% compared to the previous year. Thanks to the public's response, the municipality significantly exceeded this goal.
During the campaign, environmental educators conducted participatory activities with families and raffled domestic mini-bins to promote correct glass separation at home.
As a reward for its excellent performance, Moralzarzal will receive 10 new glass bins (iglús) with a custom design. These will be strategically distributed in high foot traffic areas, commercial zones, sports venues, and near educational centers.
The City Council of Moralzarzal has reiterated its gratitude to the residents for their continuous collaboration in sustainability initiatives, demonstrating once again that collective commitment yields positive results for the municipality.
