The municipality of Manzanares El Real, located in the Sierra de Madrid region, is looking to expand its Local Police service by hiring three new officers. This initiative, driven by the Department of Security and Emergencies, aims to bolster the police force's human resources to enhance safety, community relations, and citizen services.
The positions available are for Police Officers (category C, subgroup C1) and are part of the council's 2026 Public Employment Offer. The selection process will employ a free competition-based system, involving several stages designed to assess both the candidates' capabilities and their readiness for police duties.
The competitive examination phase will include psychometric, cultural, and physical tests (such as a 60m sprint, 800m run, medicine ball throw, standing long jump, and a 25m swim), along with a medical examination. Candidates who pass this initial stage will proceed to the merit-based evaluation phase, where academic qualifications, professional experience, language skills, and relevant police-related courses will be assessed.
Selected candidates will be required to complete a training course at the Institute for Comprehensive Training in Security and Emergencies of the Community of Madrid (IFISE), lasting a minimum of 625 academic hours. Following this, they will undertake a six-month practical training period within the Manzanares El Real City Council, during which their professional performance and interaction with the public will be evaluated.
Eligibility requirements for the call include Spanish nationality, being over 18 years old, holding a high school diploma (Bachiller), Technician certificate, or equivalent, possessing the necessary physical and mental conditions for the role, having no criminal record, and holding a Class B driving license or higher. The application period will be open for 20 business days following the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
This recruitment drive aims to establish a community-oriented and professional police service capable of meeting the specific needs of Manzanares El Real, thereby strengthening municipal public services and resident support in the Sierra de Madrid area.
