Manzanares El Real joins the European Mobility Week 2026 once again with a program of participatory activities and a special focus on the road safety of Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMVs).

The Department of Mobility has prepared initiatives such as 'To School by Bike', training workshops, and an orientation Gymkhana to promote the use of alternative transport methods. In this edition, the City Council highlights the importance of strict compliance with current DGT regulations for electric scooter users.
PMV users are reminded of the mandatory requirements and equipment, including the use of an approved protective helmet, visible lighting, and reflective elements at night or in low visibility. Additionally, technical certification and mandatory insurance must be up to date.
Regarding traffic rules, cycling on sidewalks and pedestrian areas is prohibited, a maximum speed limit of 25 km/h is established, the use of headphones and mobile phones is forbidden, and it is strictly for single-person transport.
The program includes on Friday, September 18th, the activity 'To School by Bike' at 08:40h in the Plaza del Pueblo, organized by the AFA of Virgen de Peña Sacra. In the afternoon, at 18:30h, an orientation race for all ages will be held starting from the same square, which will include a road safety test. Registrations can be made at [participacion.ciudadana@manzanareselreal.es](mailto:participacion.ciudadana@manzanareselreal.es) or in person.
On Saturday, September 19th, Avenida de Madrid will be closed to vehicular traffic for the entire day. In the morning, from 11:00 to 13:30h at Av. de Madrid 2, a workshop will be held to learn how to ride a bicycle safely, led by the association Pedalibre. Concurrently, from 11:30 to 13:30h, El Gato con Mota will offer a basic bicycle maintenance workshop.
In the afternoon, from 17:30 to 19:30h, the Hora Joven (Youth Hour) will host a longboard/skateboard test for fans of these sports.
