The Guadarrama City Council has approved a 6,000 euro grant to support those affected by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela, in coordination with the Spanish Red Cross.

The measure was ratified by the local Government Board. The funds will be managed by the Spanish Red Cross, an organization currently working on the ground to provide aid to families who have lost their homes and to the relatives of the victims.
The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) has advised institutions and citizens to prioritize financial donations over the shipment of physical goods. This recommendation aims to prevent the saturation of logistics chains, which could hinder the management of the humanitarian emergency.
The earthquakes, which occurred on June 24, caused the destruction of hundreds of buildings. Since the disaster, rescue teams, including members of the Military Emergencies Unit and the ERICAM team from the Community of Madrid, have been working continuously in the affected areas.
