The Collado Mediano City Council will offer residents for the first time the possibility of renewing their National Identity Document (DNI) and passport within the municipality, thanks to the deployment of a mobile documentation unit from the National Police.

The service will be provided on November 16, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The mobile unit will be located in the Plaza Mayor, next to the City Council. A maximum of 50 appointments have been allocated, with each appointment corresponding to the processing of a single document. Those needing to renew both their DNI and passport must book two appointments.
Appointments must be requested in person at the City Council's Citizen Attention Office, during its usual hours, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The City Council reminds citizens of the importance of canceling an appointment if they cannot attend, so it can be assigned to another resident.
The fees are 12 euros for the DNI and 30 euros for the passport. Payment can be made by card or cash, with card payment being preferred. Members of large families will be exempt from payment upon documentary proof. Renewal of the DNI due to a change of address will be free of charge, provided the corresponding registration certificate is presented and the ID document is still valid.
For the DNI, a recent color photograph, the previous DNI (for renewals), and a recent registration certificate are required. Minors under 14 must be accompanied. For passports, a valid DNI, a current color photograph, and payment of the fee are necessary. For minors, a valid DNI, photograph, family book or birth certificate, and accompaniment by parents are required.
With this initiative, Collado Mediano provides a new proximity service that facilitates essential administrative procedures for residents and avoids the need to travel outside the municipality.
