The City Council's Department of Public Works has launched a new maintenance service that has tripled available resources, increasing from 500,000 euros annually to 1.5 million. This expansion allows for both large-scale projects and daily repairs.
Between May and August alone, interventions worth over 500,000 euros have been carried out, a figure equivalent to the entire annual budget of the previous contract. Among the most significant projects are the rehabilitation of the pedestrian path from Cerro del Mosquito to Boadilla del Monte, improvements to the multifunctional platform of El Vaíllo and its parking area, and pedestrian connections between the Calle Ebro dock and the Monte de la Villa cycle path.
Other important works include the rehabilitation of sidewalks on Calle Miravalles, providing access to the 150 Aniversario park, and the improvement of the road surface and curbs on Calle Duero. Additionally, signage on roundabouts throughout the municipality has been enhanced.
Currently, the most significant ongoing project is the rehabilitation of curbs, sidewalks, and the road surface on Calle Tajo, between Miño and Duero. Continuously, dozens of minor repairs are being undertaken in various areas, including the Urban Center (streets Bispo, Goya, Miguel Servet, Ruda, Lacedón, Eras, Doctor Fleming, Laura García Noblejas, or Móstoles), Campodón (streets Peñíscola, Cantabria, Valencia, Bellas Vistas, Pedraza, or Bosque), Monte de la Villa (streets Lisboa, Valeta, or Ámsterdam), El Castillo (avenues Madrid, Villaviciosa, and Viñas, or Sarmiento), and El Bosque (streets Tajo, Bidasoa, Guadiana, Hijuela, Sil, Bañuelos, or Cea).
The Councilor for Public Works, Pablo Rodríguez, stated that "the increase in resources allows us to combine major projects with the small repairs that public roads require daily, enhancing our capacity for action in both the town center and the urbanizations."
