A middle-aged driver caused a spectacular accident in Majadahonda when her car collided with the rear of a bus, after confusing the pedals, briefly halting traffic on Doctor Calero Street.

The incident occurred last Wednesday, April 15, around 7:15 PM, on Doctor Calero Street in Majadahonda, specifically near the Príncipe de Asturias Youth Center. Eyewitnesses confirmed that the vehicle, which was traveling towards the Renfe Station, struck the rear of a bus.
Fortunately, the incident resulted in no personal injuries, although the collision was quite dramatic. The road remained closed for approximately half an hour while efforts were made to remove the involved vehicles and clear the area.
The swift action of the Local Police was crucial in managing the situation. They diverted traffic via Avenida de España, thereby preventing major congestion and allowing normal circulation to be quickly restored.

According to sources from the bus concessionaire company, the driver confused the brake pedal with the accelerator, so instead of stopping the car when the bus was about to pick up passengers at the stop in this area, she hit it from behind, resulting in her vehicle being completely damaged with extensive destruction to the front.

The driver's vehicle sustained significant damage to its front. A Local Police officer managed to move the damaged car to the sidewalk, as the woman, visibly shaken by the incident, refused to drive it again at that moment. The accident attracted numerous onlookers, and the situation caused up to three additional buses to wait, forming a queue that stretched to the previous roundabout, where the Local Police set up cones to regulate vehicle flow.
