Seven cyclists injured in Brunete after being hit by a car on the M-600

Seven cyclists were injured, one of them seriously, on Sunday after being hit by a car on the M-600 highway, near the municipality of Brunete.

The accident occurred around 9:30 AM at kilometer 33.900 of the road, a stretch frequently used by cyclists on weekends between El Escorial and Brunete. SUMMA 112 paramedics responded to the scene and attended to the affected individuals, all males between 25 and 50 years old.
Of the seven injured cyclists, one is in serious condition with a head injury and was airlifted to Puerta de Hierro Hospital in Majadahonda. The other six, with minor to moderate injuries including trauma, fractures, and contusions, were transported to various hospitals in the Community of Madrid.
The driver of the car involved, a 19-year-old young man, received treatment at the scene for an anxiety attack. The Civil Guard has arrived at the accident site and has begun an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the collision.
