The Hoyo de Manzanares City Council has initiated the installation of a mobile phone antenna on M-618 road and is planning a second for elevated areas, aiming to significantly enhance coverage in the municipality.

The installation of a mobile phone antenna near the M-618 road in Hoyo de Manzanares is now underway, as confirmed by the municipal leadership. This initiative seeks to resolve long-standing communication problems that have affected residents, addressing a historical demand in the locality.
The Council has finalized a contract with a specialized telecommunications infrastructure company that collaborates with various national operators. The antenna will be located on a municipal plot within polygon 63, near the area known as El Berzalejo.
For the commencement of the works, estimated to last approximately one and a half months, only permits from the Ministry of Industry are pending. The budget for the electrical connection has already been provided by the energy company.

"The project will not incur any cost for residents. The company is responsible for the antenna installation, which is very advantageous, as initially high figures were considered. The City Council will only cover the cost of civil works, meaning the connections and bringing electricity to the plot."

Additionally, the upcoming installation of a second antenna has been announced. This new infrastructure is designed to provide coverage to residents in the higher areas of the municipality, such as La Gargantilla, where the topography hinders signal reception from existing antennas.
The same company is collaborating with the owners of two potential sites for this second antenna, which must be located in the upper part of the municipality. Strategic placement is crucial, as telephone waves propagate downwards, explaining the poor coverage in elevated areas relative to current antennas.
