The initiative, spearheaded by the Brain and Behaviour (BRABE) research group at Nebrija University, aims to analyze the impact of cognitive training on key mental abilities such as memory and concentration. The project actively seeks participation from local residents.
The research team, comprising experts in clinical psychology, biology, biochemistry, engineering, nursing, and medicine, focuses on understanding the neurological mechanisms of cognitive decline and exploring ways to enhance these functions. Participants will be organized into groups of up to seven people and will complete a total of eight sessions, scheduled at a frequency of two to three times per week.
All sessions will take place entirely within Galapagar, eliminating the need for participants to travel outside the municipality. The exact location may vary depending on the project's different phases and requirements. The study will unfold in two main stages: the first focused on recruiting participants and designing the program's implementation, followed by the intervention phase and the measurement and analysis of the obtained results.
Volunteers will receive a professional assessment of their cognitive state and will contribute significantly to advancing knowledge about brain function, particularly concerning cognitive decline and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's.
The study is specifically seeking individuals aged between 18 and 35 years and those over 45 years to participate in the eight planned sessions. Interested individuals can request more information and register via email at [educacion@galapagar.es](mailto:educacion@galapagar.es) or through the provided online registration form.
This collaboration underscores Galapagar's commitment to science and the well-being of its citizens, bringing university research closer to the community and promoting cognitive health.
