The Galapagar City Council held a minute of silence on Monday to honor the victims of the earthquakes in Venezuela, showing support for those affected and the Venezuelan community residing in the municipality.

The municipality of Galapagar has organized various initiatives to raise funds and offer aid to those affected by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela. As a gesture of solidarity, a minute of silence was observed in tribute to the victims and in recognition of the significant Venezuelan community residing in the town.
The first solidarity action will be a Help Point organized by the local Venezuelan community. It will be set up in the Plaza de la Constitución this Tuesday, June 30, and will be open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Non-perishable food items and medicines will be requested, with no clothing accepted. There is a possibility that this initiative may extend to July 1, pending confirmation.
Joining this effort will be the traditional Solidarity Market Galasol, scheduled for July 6. Local associations such as En Galapagar no estás solo and Mujeres Artesanas will participate. A key aspect of this market is that 50% of all proceeds will be donated to aid those affected in Venezuela.
The City Council has expressed gratitude for the swift response from the residents and associations of the municipality to this critical situation, highlighting "Galapagar's capacity to unite and act" in times of need.
Local authorities have issued a call for citizen participation in the Help Point and the Galasol Solidarity Market, encouraging everyone to contribute, within their means, to supporting those going through difficult times due to this humanitarian crisis.
