The ceremony, presided over by acting mayor Ángel Camacho and Security Councilor Javier Álvarez, honored members of the Local Police, other security forces, volunteers, and citizens for their contributions to municipal security.
The Grand Cross of the Order of May 2nd, awarded by the Community of Madrid, was presented to chief inspector Rafael Hernández Párraga and eleven officers for their participation in emergency operations during the Valencia DANA and the storms of March 2025.
The Cross for Professional Merit of Second Category with Blue Distinction was also awarded to officer Ildefonso Piñas Morales and police officer Roque Gómez Cortés, for their intervention at an educational center where they were injured in the line of duty.
The Galapagar Local Police Cross recognized the collaboration of an officer from Collado Villalba, a first corporal from the Civil Guard, two Civil Protection volunteers, a national police officer, and a private security guard.
Additionally, public commendation diplomas were given to several officers for outstanding actions, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers and operations against youth gangs, along with appreciation plaques for six citizens for their support of police activity.
The acting mayor highlighted the police force's evolution towards a professional model, supported by technical improvements like video surveillance systems and drone usage, reaffirming the Governing team's commitment to citizen security.
