The Galapagar City Council has begun the installation of a new automatic bollard on Guadarrama street, enhancing pedestrian zone protection with advanced technology.

Work on installing this new automatic bollard on Guadarrama street, at its intersection with Monte Agreste street and El Caño street, commenced last Tuesday, June 9th, and is expected to last approximately three days. During this period, the affected section will be closed to traffic, maintaining the usual alternative route for weekends.
This new technological infrastructure is designed to provide more reliable access control and road safety. Made of stainless steel with a high-resistance hydraulic system, the bollard minimizes common issues such as dirt accumulation or wear from continuous use.
Among its most notable features are an LED signaling system indicating its status, a vehicle detection system to prevent collisions, GSM remote control for the Local Police and authorized services, automatic scheduling, and 24-hour technical assistance. It will also facilitate immediate access for emergency services like ambulances and firefighters when needed.
This initiative is part of the municipal infrastructure modernization plan promoted by the Governing team of Galapagar, aiming to optimize safety and traffic management in the municipality's restricted access areas.
