The Galapagar City Council has requested that the Community of Madrid expedite the processing of the Los Altos de La Navata urban project, following its approval in the municipal plenary session.

The initiative, which has received the regional Declaration of Special Relevance, will be integrated into the regional Urban Accelerator. The plan aims to improve housing access for local youth, allocating 294 of the 652 planned units for this purpose, with an estimated private investment of 25 million euros.
The development, covering over 363,000 square meters, focuses on low-density residential housing. According to municipal sources, the number of homes has been reduced compared to previous proposals to ensure harmonious integration with the natural landscape of La Navata and the surroundings of the Guadarrama Regional Park.
The plan includes the creation of over 44,000 square meters of green space, including a public forest park. Additionally, 30,000 square meters are reserved for public facilities, sports installations, and commercial areas, alongside improvements to the internal road network with 50,000 square meters dedicated to public mobility infrastructure.

"Sustainability is another fundamental pillar of the project; for the first time in Galapagar, a separate network for rainwater will be implemented to optimize hydraulic management and protect the surrounding natural environment."
