According to official figures, the municipality recorded a total of 2,192 criminal offenses between January and June, averaging 12 incidents per day. The report highlights a varied trend depending on the type of crime, with a significant surge in vehicle thefts, which rose from 34 to 104, a 205.9% increase.
Petty thefts also saw a notable rise, increasing from 593 to 693 cases, representing a 16.9% growth. Meanwhile, robberies involving violence or intimidation grew by 35%, totaling 23 incidents. Regarding burglaries in homes and businesses, the total reached 52, although there was a specific decline in residential break-ins.
In terms of cybercrime, the municipality experienced an 11.9% decrease in online scams, which fell from 522 to 475. Other cyber-related offenses also dropped from 73 to 49 cases during the first six months of the year.
