Collado Villalba Records Best Employment Figures in Months for April

The municipality sees a 3% decrease in unemployment from March and nearly 5% year-on-year, driven by the services sector.

Collado Villalba experienced a significant improvement in its employment figures in April, recording the best data in recent months with a notable decrease in unemployment, according to the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment of the Community of Madrid.

The number of unemployed individuals in the municipality stood at 3,174 people, representing a 3 percent decrease compared to March, with 101 fewer people on the lists. The improvement is even more pronounced when compared to April 2025, showing a 4.8 percent drop.
Analyzing the data by segments, young people under 25 years old account for 6.1 percent of the total registered unemployed, while the age group between 25 and 44 years old represents 35 percent. Individuals aged 45 or older are the most affected group, making up 59 percent of registered unemployment. Regarding gender, women outnumber men in unemployment figures, with 59.8 percent compared to 40.2 percent for men.
By economic sectors, the Services sector accounts for the largest share of unemployment, with 81.4 percent. This is followed by Construction with 7.2 percent, people without previous employment with 6.8 percent, Industry with 3.9 percent, and finally, Agriculture and Fishing with 0.6 percent.

To further boost employability, the City Council will organize the XII VillalbaEmplea 2026 Employment Fair on May 26 at the Municipal Initiatives Center. This event will feature experts who will offer innovative tools for job searching, including the use of Artificial Intelligence, and numerous job offers will be presented with the possibility of submitting resumes directly to collaborating companies.
Additionally, the City Council's Employment Agency continues to provide a free public service to help unemployed individuals find work and assist companies in meeting their needs for qualified personnel.
