The House of Culture in Collado Villalba presents until September 17th the exhibition 'Centenarian Madrileños. The Wisdom of Longevity', a photographic display celebrating the life experiences of centenarians from the Community of Madrid.

The exhibition, part of the Itiner Network, offers a journey through photographs and testimonies of people who have lived over a century. Its aim is to create a space for reflection on their legacy and their role as witnesses to a century of profound historical, social, and technological changes.
In Spain, there are nearly 20,000 centenarians, with 2,500 residing in the Community of Madrid. The exhibition's subjects were born in the early decades of the 20th century, an era marked by modernization, social inequalities, the Civil War, and the subsequent dictatorship, making them exceptional witnesses to the transition to democracy.
These individuals have experienced the transformation of daily life, scientific and cultural advancements, and the growth of Madrid. Their longevity is presented as a personal achievement and a valuable link to the region's past.
The exhibition can be visited at the Julián Redondo Exhibition Hall, located in the House of Culture of Collado Villalba, from August 27th to September 17th. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with free admission.
